Daniel Jorall was born in the LHS 3447 system in the year 3277. His parents owned a minor trading outpost on LHS 3447 A 5. He grew up learning the art of trading with them, helping manage the outpost. Even though he tried to accept that he would one day have to take over the management of the trading outpost, his dream was to go out into the vastness of space and explore the galaxy, fighting for glory as a bounty hunter, an explorer, perhaps even a miner! The galaxy would know his name! Anything would be better than being stuck on an unimportant world in the middle of nowhere.

His parents would hear none of it. They had worked hard to gain their wealth, and did not see any reason to leave such a good life behind. Daniel fought his parents on many occasions, trying to explain that their business would benefit from having a ship and a pilot of their own, rather than depending on contracts with independent traders. His father was adamant, though, he claimed that Daniel would hopefully never have to understand how complicated the galaxy is. "A simple life is the greatest wealth a man can have." It drove him insane.

As the years passed by, Daniels passion for flying did not fade, but he gave up on his dream of ever leaving his home. He had to be content with occasional flying lessons with his uncle, who owned a tiny old Sidewinder. The ship was patched up more times than anyone could count, but everything it lacked in style and technology, it made up in its stunning ability to continue flying no matter what. Hours spent in the little ship gave him experience, but no matter how much he begged his uncle, they never went further than the orbital station above the planet.

It was a cold day when he came back home after work. The hour was late, and he did not expect to find his parents awake, in the company of his uncle. His mother looked like she had been crying, and his father didn't look much happier. Worried, he wanted to know what had happened. When his uncle informed him that the Sidewinder was waiting for him at the trading stations dock, he could not believe it. His uncle had convinced his father that you had greater potential than to just manage a simple local trading outpost, and together they had agreed to refit the old ship to allow him to go and seek his luck outside of LHS 3447. With tears of both joy and sadness, he prepared his newly acquired ship, bid farewell to his family, and flew out to Dalton Gateway, the orbital station above to acquire a pilots license.

Things started looking up from there. His skills as a fighter pilot allowed him to start bounty hunting in order to save up money for a better ship. He started gaining a reputation, taking on higher risk jobs, until he had enough money to get his first new ship, a Vulture. His horizons expanded, and he started looking beyond simple pirate hunting. He had dreamed of exploring the galaxy, and to do that, you needed an excellent ship, not just a decent one. A friend suggested trading as a better way to make money. He was skeptical at first, but after some research, he realized that his friend had been right, instead of risking his life every day fighting pirates, he could instead take up trading, and only occasionally risk his life fighting pirates.

After about a year, he managed to scrape up enough money to buy an ASP Explorer, a ship worthy of even the best explorers. Outfitting for long term flight with no contact with civilization, he headed out towards the Norma Expanse, hoping to be the first person to discover new stars and earth-like planets. He returned a couple of months later, deciding that exploration was a hobby that he could only do in short bursts. The lure of civilization was too much for him to avoid for a long time.

While selling his gathered data at a station, he heard a rumor that there was great money to be made in trading slaves. While he did not like the idea of slavery, the money was too good to pass up. After all, he had many plans for many more ships, and money wasn't exactly overflowing on his account. He decided that someone would have to transport slaves to new markets, and it might as well be him. Perhaps he could improve the slaves lives by treating them fairly. After his first few trade runs, he got used to the dejected faces and battered bodies. His dislike for slavery didn't really manage to dent his love for credits. In the meanwhile, his search for credits led him from Federation space to the Empire, where the Imperial slave market offered even better profit.

That all changed the day he did his last slaver run. The knowledge that he was endorsing something as evil as slavery was already weighing on him, but nothing could prepare him for what he saw that day. He had delivered a couple hundred slaves to a slaver on a Imperial planet. The slaver invited Daniel to an auction he was holding, where the rich from all over the Empire had come to bid for the slaves. There was a little girl who kept looking around at everyone with childish curiosity, holding her mothers skirt. Her curiosity turned to horror when her mother was bought by a wealthy bureaucrat, but he insisted on leaving the child behind. Her screams of anguish haunted Daniel for many days. That night he sat in his cabin on his recently acquired Type 9 Heavy, crying as he realized that he was just as guilty as the slaver and the bureaucrat. He had caused pain to innumerable individuals by supporting that system that took away their liberty. "Never again!", he swore.

The very next day, he set course for Cubeo. He had heard that the Princess Aisling Duval was working to abolish slavery in the Empire. He had to make amends for his terrible actions. He had to help this princess in her goal. He did not seek forgiveness, he sought a chance to right the wrongs he had done. Arriving at Cubeo, he docked at Medupe City, seeking information about the faction that most supported princess Aisling. Ansel Xeaross, known as CMDR UntamedZer0, introduced him to the Prismatic Imperium. Finally seeing a chance to do some good, he pledged fealty to the princess, and vowed to serve her goals in any way he can.

What happened after that, remains to be seen...
