Kolt Argent II
The Argent family rose to prominence through business ties with the Yaque Public Company. They live on the planet of Yaque 1, a place known as a tourist attraction for its resorts. It’s seen as a getaway from the hustle and bustle of places like Cubeo.
Kolt Argent II was born on a large family plot of land into a rather fortunate existence. The family wasn’t always wealthy, but their connections came with a relatively high standard of living.
Growing up on such a rural segment of the planet was relaxing but also boring. Kolt craved traveling amongst the stars. He got his chance after investing into a small mining operation which was part of the Yaque Public Company. Kolt invested his inheritance and built up its fleet over a decade by using profits to expand operations. This proved to be quite profitable for Kolt and the YPC.
‘Argent Ores’ became one of many important companies that helped pull much needed minerals for the Empire. Much work and investment into Imperial initiatives helped Kolt earn minor regional influence. This was also true on his home world of Yaque 1, where he was granted the title of Duke along with political responsibilities for a small province on the planet.
Kolt doesn’t hesitate to take control of one of Argent Ores’ mining vessels. He would prefer to fly the family’s Imperial Cutter, recently rechristened as the ‘Duke of Bronze.’ The title of minor nobility also comes with military expectations in a system known for policing its own space. As such, Kolt has begun training in spaceborne combat operations. After training for some time on an Imperial Eagle, he used the pull of his funds and influence to transfer to a Fer-de-Lance squadron. Far from a fighter ace, Kolt is cobbling together tactics and strategy with the help of more experienced officers. A high strung anxiety and passion for fighting seem to help him survive in treacherous situations.
Greater Imperial politics are quite important to the stoic pilot. He’s recently become swept up by the views of Aisling Duval after attending a public speech she gave at Barnwell Port. He doesn’t agree with her on every issue, but sees she has a true vision for a better Empire. Some of her words guilt-tripped him into wanting to be better.
His family has benefited from Imperial Slaves, yet he agrees they deserve better rights. Kolt knows there is room for profit without slave labor. There are times when he still can’t resist running a quick trade from systems far from Aisling’s prying eye.
Kolt also believes her stance against so-called narcotics might be a bit strict. He enjoys celebrating with a good drink and even has a few other habits. His following of Aisling Duval is more of an ideal Kolt hopes to live up to and advance society with. He justifies his transgressions by telling himself it’s okay if most people obey.
The man from Yaque can be off-putting to some, who see him as arrogant and entitled. This is mostly due to his anti-social tendencies and lack of understanding of the minor nuances of interaction. Kolt is actually quite benevolent and downright protective.
Kolt stands at about 6’1, with deep brown skin and black frizzy hair worn short. His brown eyes appear to be cybernetically enhanced upon closer look. An odd, almost reticule like black pattern breaks up the shape of his iris.
