Emerald Observatory is a district of Capital City. It is the largest public university in Cubeo and is one of the most prestigious institutions in the Empire making it nearly rival Emperor's Chosen University. It serves as the headquarters for the Branch of Sight. Most of the transportation system is on the surface. District also includes residential, commercial, and tourist attractions. Our next story brings to Emerald University, rumors are swirling that they are experimenting on Sight Recruits. There has been talk of alleged secret meetings amongst staff management that devolve into experiments with guardian technology on Sight Recruits. Those poor innocent souls, kept at the whim of the university. If this is true, then what else is the Lord Headmaster hiding? Stay up to date as we uncover more of their mysteries.
With the student transportation system renovations complete, recent complaints have been levied against bathrooms at the Emerald University. Several sources say an increasing level of bathroom uncleanliness and mismanagement amongst the walkways between classrooms and labs. We reached out to a few students for comment, “It’s unacceptable that these restrooms are so dirty and gross! How am I supposed to relieve myself if the smell is so appalling!”, said one student. Good news comes in as the budget has shifted for bathroom improvements and the hiring of new cleaning staff to make sure these complaints are never levied again.
With Emerald University’s bathrooms freshly renovated, new money coming in is alleged to be allocated towards the decor campus’s courtyard along with the planned purchase of new auditorium equipment. It has been reported that one room had speakers falling from the ceiling! “You know, I was sitting in class, minding my own business, then all of the sudden… ‘SMACK!’. A speaker just fell right on the table in front of me! I nearly jumped out of my seat!”. One student commented when asked about the upcoming renovations. We expect these to be completed by the end of the week!
With the new auditorium equipment installation completed, new funds have been allocated to the Observatory itself! Lab technicians have noted that the ginormous telescope needs a few touch ups, and this project in and of itself is a massive undertaking and will reportedly cost quite a bit of money. Let’s hope they can see this one through! Another thing to note on the university; have you seen the weird garden gnomes appearing around the campus? These sightings and other strange things are being reported as we speak, and it seems rather odd… We asked one student their thoughts on this, “It’s like.. the weirdest thing! One moment I enter my dorm room, and when I leave there’s like, two of these little short garden gnomes just sitting in the hallway! I’ve even seen a couple standing in the fountain in the main courtyard… It’s way too creepy!” Several other students declined to comment specifically, but have made mention that they are determined to get to the bottom of it.
Emerald Observatory continues their long maintenance and refurbishment project as new investment funds arrive. Many of the supporting instruments that the observatory staff utilize alongside the gigantic telescope are scheduled to be updated or replaced based on their current warranty timeline. This is exciting news as they are in the process of planning a new expedition!
